The First Gym

The Santalune city Pokemon Gym

The Santalune city gym is located in Santalune city (no surprises there), the third city you come across whilst on your adventure.

The leader of this gym is Viola,  "The camerawoman who never lets a single smile escape her focus".
This gym is based around bug type Pokemon and once entering the main room this becomes apparent as there is a massive spiderweb which you must navigate to reach viola in her tent style battling platform.
In total there are 3 Trainers in this gym, excluding Viola, all of which having bug type Pokemon the trainers are as follows:

• Youngster David - David has only the one Pokemon which is a Lvl 10 Ledyba.
• Youngster Zachary - Zachary  also has 1 Pokemon in the form of a Lvl 10 Spewpa.
• Lass Charlotte - Charlotte has 2 Pokemon a Lvl 7 Kakuna and a Lvl 9 Combee.

Viola has 2 Pokemon a Lvl 10 Surskit and a Lvl 12 Vivillon. Vivillon has a new move called Infestation (TM 83) which deals one sixteenth of a Pokemon's maximum health over 4-5 turns it also prevents the targeted Pokemon from escaping or switching out. Once you have beaten Viola she will award you with the Bug Badge and TM83.
